I have a large (17#) male kitty that I got as a kitten (he was a foundling)...he still tries to "nurse/nuzzle"?

I have a large mountain dog. He's almost a year old and I'm afraid I gave him more love than training as a puppy. I'm home all the time, but he will whine for hours until he gets his way (gets to go outside, has be retrieve his ball from under something). Not only does he whine, but he will nuzzle me and put his head into whatever I'm doing to get my attention. He's so big he pushes me over sometimes! I try to wait for him to stop before I let him out or give him toys, but sometimes I can't always do it so I wonder if I'm sending him mixed signals. I'm 7 months pregnant and very worried that if I dont get him under control he will be dangerous to have in our house even though he's a super sweet dog. What can I do to tame him? I have two fantails and when I got them the bright orange fish was slightly larger and fatter than the brown one. I have had them for five months now and they have both grown but the brown one is now slightly larger than the orange one. Could this mean it is a male or female or does size not matter with goldfish? I am only interested because ever since I had them the brown one tends to chase the orange one and often nuzzles underneath it. I was wondering if this is because the brown one is male and flirting with the female. Basically though, a male has white dots that look like zits and tend to grow around their gills. Males are also generally big and thin while females are small and fat. Another obvious trait is that around spring the female will be chased by the male. I hope that helps.
